Choosing as a Team (Intro)

I submit the following hierarchy of approaches as a new convention for joint decision making in your marriage. Spouses should strive to use the earliest techniques (highest priority). Yet, they should not fixate on an early technique that clearly will not provide a path forward on a given decision. Neither should they sink directly to the bottom of the list when the easy approaches are unsuccessful.

A Joint Decision Making Convention:

  1. Together

  2. Tiers

  3. Twofer

  4. Turns

  5. Trade

  6. Terms

  7. Tabled

  8. Train

  9. Try

  10. Twain

  11. Taboo

  12. Trouble
